Chart of Accounts
Overview
The Chart of Accounts is the backbone of the accounting module. It is a structured list of all financial accounts used by Cola Solar — assets, liabilities, income, expenses, and equity.
To view it, go to Accounting → Chart of Accounts.
Account Types
| Type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Asset | What Cola Solar owns — cash, receivables, stock |
| Liability | What Cola Solar owes — payables, loans |
| Income | Revenue from solar product sales and services |
| Expense | Costs incurred — salaries, logistics, overheads |
| Equity | Owner’s capital and retained earnings |
| Tax | VAT and other tax accounts |
| Stock | Warehouse and inventory accounts |
Adding a New Account
- Go to Accounting → Chart of Accounts
- Click on the parent account group you want to add under
- Click Add Child
- Enter the Account Name
- Select the Account Type
- Click Save
Do not create new top-level account groups without consulting Finance. Always add accounts under the correct parent group.
