Stock Entry
Overview
A Stock Entry records the movement of items — receiving stock, transferring between locations, or issuing materials. It is used for movements that don’t come from a Purchase Order or Sales Order.
To access: Stock → Stock Entry
Stock Entry Types
| Type | When to use |

| Material Receipt | Receiving stock not tied to a Purchase Order |
| Material Issue | Issuing stock out of a warehouse (consumables, write-offs) |
| Material Transfer | Moving stock between two Cola Solar warehouses |
Receiving Stock (Material Receipt)
- Go to Stock → Stock Entry → New
- Set Stock Entry Type to Material Receipt
- Set the Posting Date
- Under Items, add each item received:
- Select the Item
- Set the Target Warehouse — where stock is going
- Enter the Quantity
- Enter the Basic Rate (cost per unit)
- Click Save then Submit
Transferring Stock Between Warehouses
- Go to Stock → Stock Entry → New
- Set Stock Entry Type to Material Transfer
- Under Items, add each item:
- Select the Item
- Set the Source Warehouse — where stock is coming from
- Set the Target Warehouse — where stock is going
- Enter the Quantity
- Click Save then Submit
Issuing Stock (Material Issue)
- Go to Stock → Stock Entry → New
- Set Stock Entry Type to Material Issue
- Under Items, add each item:
- Select the Item
- Set the Source Warehouse
- Enter the Quantity
- Add a note explaining the reason for issue
- Click Save then Submit
Submitted Stock Entries cannot be edited. Cancel and resubmit if corrections are needed.
