Tasks

Overview

Tasks are the individual actionable units within a project. Each task can be assigned to a team member, given a deadline, and tracked through to completion.

To access: ProjectsTask

Creating a Task from a Project

  1. Open the Project
  2. On the dashboard, click the + icon next to Task
  3. Enter the Subject — a clear description of what needs to be done
  4. Set the Status — Open, Working, Pending Review, Overdue, Completed, Cancelled
  5. Assign to an Employee under Assigned To
  6. Set Expected Start Date and Expected End Date
  7. Set Priority — Low, Medium, High, Urgent
  8. Click Save

Creating a Task Independently

  1. Go to ProjectsTaskNew
  2. Enter the Subject
  3. Link to a Project if applicable
  4. Fill in status, assignee, and dates
  5. Click Save

Task Status

OpenNot yet started
WorkingIn progress
Pending ReviewDone, awaiting sign-off
OverduePast expected end date
CompletedFinished and confirmed
CancelledTask was dropped

Tracking Task Progress

The Actual Start and End Dates on a task are recorded automatically based on Timesheet entries. The Total Costing Amount and Total Billing Amount are also pulled from linked timesheets automatically.
